How did it happen?

13 year-old Titania Mitchell died of a gunshot wound Saturday in a northwest Jacksonville home. It's unclear how it happened and who owed the gun. Investigators questioned three other children inside the house.

Costly carrier classic

The city of Jacksonville lost about $750,000 from hosting the Navy-Marine Corps Classic on the USS Bataan last November. Unless the city puts on a profitable special event soon, Councilman Matt Schellenberg says the city's sports fund will have to be replaced by tax dollars or budget changes.

Tracking storms

We're tracking a storm system that could dump a lot of rain, large hail, damaging winds, and even an isolated tornado. We have a 30% probability for severe storms during the afternoon and evening.

Extreme weather change

It's a dry start to the day and much needed rain is coming. But we have a risk of severe storms Thursday. Heather Zehr says the window opens up in the late morning and closes by late afternoon. Some of us could see up to 5 inches of rain by Thursday night.
