Two local military veterans met with famed actor and avid golfer Bill Murray for some special surprises.
Murray's appearance was in support of the The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation at the Pond Charity Golf Classic at the River Bend Golf Links on Thursday morning. It was the kickoff for the 14th annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Golf classic charity tournament this week.
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation donated an Action Trackchair, a special all-terrain wheelchair, to local Army National Guard veteran Wesley Johnson. Johnson was in a car accident that left him a quadriplegic three years ago.
Murray and Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown also presented 102-year-old golfer, John Powell Muilenburg, the event's honorary starter, with a certificate officially proclaiming Muilenburg as an honorary golfing brother and friend of the Murray brothers and Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament.
