INTRODUCTION: Don't Throw The Baby Out With The Bathwater!  Are you feeling overwhelmed or like you're on an emotional rollercoaster during your pregnancy or since the birth of your baby? YOU ARE NOT ALONE! According to Postpartum Support International (PSI), Postpartum depression is the #1 complication from childbirth.  Research shows that 50% - 70% of newborn moms and 10% of newborn dads will experience some type of postpartum mood disorder. This disorder can occur anytime in pregnancy, or during the first year after giving birth.  Some women experience depression while others have extreme anxiety. It is not your fault!  Baptist Health's Women's Services offers a FREE bi-monthly support group for mothers of newborns (biological or adoptive) who are experiencing any type of perinatal or postpartum mood issue.  This may include, but is not limited to: sadness, tearfulness, excessive worry, difficulty sleeping, changes in appetite, irritability, lack of bonding, anxiety and any other change in mood or behavior.  Here, you will receive support from others with similar experiences as well as be taught skills to help alleviate symptoms.This will be an on-going group held for one hour twice per month. There is no charge but space is limited so please register each time you wish to attend.  Register early as space is limited.
