It seems like a plan that was well hatched.
A police officer dressed in a giant yellow chicken outfit roamed the streets with a singular goal.
The chicken/cop was part of an operation by cops to check drivers and how they treated pedestrians in a crosswalk.
The big foul worked five areas including two near schools.
It worked big time.
Local police wrote 32 tickets, most for failing to yield but also tossed in one for speeding.
Police in California told the Lake Elsinore-Wildomar Patch the excuses were epic.
"Even though the decoy was wearing a bright yellow costume, most drivers stated they did not see him crossing the road"
Making matters even more humorous, cops had pre-warned people in the area that something special was in the works.
