The comment came as Coburn was speaking at a fundraiser for the New York Young Republican Club on Monday.
When asked about his relationships with other Senators Coburn is reported to have said “there’s no comity with Harry Reid. I think he’s an absolute a–hole.”
This isn’t the first time Coburn has ripped into the Nevada democrat.
In 2012 Coburn remarked “If you want to ask why the Senate isn’t working, there’s one reason, it’s called Harry Reid.” Coburn described Reid as “incompetent and incapable of carrying on the leadership in the Senate.”
The Oklahoma Senator later apologized for his choice of words.
Coburn has always prided himself on having “great relationships” with some from the other side of the aisle citing his friendship with New York Democrat Charles Schumer.
Reid has not been a wallflower himself. The Senate Majority leader has not held back his dislike for overweight people and has called tourists in Washington “smelly.”
He even complained to a TV news technician once that his breath was smelly.
