The tip wasn’t cash but it might as well have been.
After a long day waiting tables at Conway’s Restaurant a customer told Aurora Kephart she could pick any two of his Keno lottery tickets for a tip.
She shrugged her shoulders and did just that. It turned out to be a really good decision.
Kephart was pleased when one of the tickets won $5 but she was shocked to disbelief when she realized the second ticket was worth $17,505.
The Register-Guard reports Aurora tried to give the ticket back but since she had signed it, she was the only person who could cash it.
She did give her regular customer a portion of the prize, "I forced him to take it," she noted.
Now she plans to save most of the rest but she does have one thing in mind, a new couch.
"It's the only thing I need," she commented. "I'm set up and secure."
