The Vols better get focused on a South Carolina team that is on a four-game winning streak, coming off a confidence-inducing 52-7 thrashing of Arkansas on the road, and re-entertaining lost hopes of an SEC East division title.
An official announcement today will reveal that Nashville will be the new primary home of the SEC men's basketball tournament. The post-season tourney will be hosted by Bridgestone Arena nine times between 2015 and 2025, with the others being held in St. Louis (um, what?) and Tampa. This year's will still be held in Hell's armpit. (Yeah, I know we broke the curse of the Georgia Dome against NC State in football last year. Just because we can win there doesn't mean it doesn't reek of demon sweat.)
Tennessee has put director of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band Gary Sousa on leave. It's gotten quite ugly, with Jimmy Cheek hitting back, calling Sousa's conduct "shockingly insubordinate," and saying worse, all setting the stage for the ultimate dismissal of a tenured staff member.
