Easley tore the ACL in his right knee during practice last week, ending his season, and sent his doll to Kentucky with DE Dante Fowler. Fowler, a sophomore had two sacks in Florida’s 24-7 win over the Wildcats at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday.
“He was just like, ‘I want you to have the Chuckie doll,’” Fowler said. “With him being out, I wanted to take that torch and stuff like that. I feel like I can take his place and do big things like him and stuff like that. That’s all I want to do.”
Fowler’s pair of sacks gave him the team lead with three overall.
As for the Chuckie doll, Fowler is honored to travel with it, but knows that it is simply on loan.
“He probably wouldn’t let me keep it,” Fowler said. “I’m pretty sure he’s gonna want to keep this. It’s his baby. It’s my baby, too. It’s my godchild.”
He also revealed the care instructions Easley gave him before the trip: “Just take care of him and don’t let no arms or nothing break off. I took care of him, though. Good care.”
