It might be coming a year later than would be ideal, but Louisville's 2014 football schedule is shaping up to be one of the best in program history.
On the heels of the news that Notre Dame and NBC have extended their television contract through 2025, there's now word that the Fighting Irish will be taking on the mighty Cardinals of Louisville two falls from now.
There's been no word on the location of said game. Louisville already has non-conference road games scheduled against FIU and Ohio in 2014. They will host Kentucky on the opening weekend of the season.
If U of L does wind up sliding into Maryland's spot in the ACC (as is the current plan), the Cardinals' 2014 slate will include the Fighting Irish, Kentucky, Florida State, Georgia Tech, NC State, Wake Forest and probably Virginia Tech.
Try to remember this during that November throttling of Memphis.
