v Coming back from 22-0 is a huge accomplishment. So is scoring 35 straight points.
We’ve noticed that David Cutcliffe’s offense tends to get better late and we figured it was just a characteristic of the program. But now we’re starting to think that it’s more a question of how much pressure the offense puts on opponents, and that opens up possibilities late.
Anyway, Virginia fans are understandably crushed. Losing a game like that is no fun.
After the game, Cutcliffe said a number of things, not least of all this: the game demonstrated that Duke has now become relevant in ACC football.
Next up is Virginia Tech, certainly not an easy game, and they’ll be favored. But the Hokies won’t dismiss Duke anytime soon. Duke has become a dangerous opponent and has to be taken seriously.
