Courtroom outburst by Shelby Farah's accused killer

Shelby Farah's accused killer let out grunts in the courtroom Wednesday after learning prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against him.

Rhodes is accused of killing 20-year-old Shelby Farah.  He pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Farah's mom, Darlene Farah, told our partner Action news the outburst brought back haunting memories of the night her daughter was killed.

"It made me sick and then when he reacted the way he reacted in the courtroom all I kept thinking about was what did he do to my baby before he shot her," said Darlene Farah.

Farah says she's now pushing for legislation to keep violent criminals off the street. Rhodes got out of prison in April after serving three years for aggravated assault and possesion of a firearm by a felon.

"I want him to suffer just like my baby did," said Farah.

She says she vows to be at every court proceeding until justice is served for her daughter.

"As long as I'm breathing, I'm going to be at every court hearing."
