Congressman Ted Yoho says Congress needs to figure out how to offset the money it would take to extend long-term unemployment benefits.
The program costs 26 billion dollars annually and he tells WOKV he's tired of seeing the system be abused.
"People that have been laid off, they've been offered jobs and they say No, I've got benefits coming for two years I'm not even looking."
He says Congress needs to look hard at the budget before extending long-term jobless benefits. Instead of extending unemployment benefits for out of work Americans, he says Congress should focus on job creation and creating a stronger economy. He believes the current administration is to blame for a struggling economy and thousands of out-of-work Americans.
