Balloon release to be held for local teens

The community is calling for justice in the case of two local girls killed after bullets riddled the home they slept in last month.
A special balloon release ceremony takes place tonight at Lakeshore Middle school at 6:30p to remember the lives of 13-year-old Jazmine Shelton and 14-year-old Megan Simmons.
The organizer of the event, Laura Ferguson, says it was the family's idea to hold the event at the school.
"A lot of the kids missed out on the funeral so they wanted to have something for the girls."
Ferguson says she's also hoping to receive new leads into the murder investigation. Police still haven't made any arrests in the case.
"If anybody knows anything, they need to call Crimestoppers or they need to call JSO."
Balloons will be released in the ceremony and a local talent will sing a song written especially for the girls who were close friends.
