The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrests a man in connection with a Christmas Eve murder and they say some good crime scene work is what ultimately cracked the case.
Lt. Rob Schoonover with JSO’s homicide unit says a bloody fingerprint on a shoebox at the crime scene was matched to 19-year-old George Williams IV and then an FDLE lab matched the blood to the victim, 23-year-old Harold Woodward the third, who was beaten, fatally shot, and left to die inside his apartment at Savannah Oaks Apartments on Roosevelt Boulevard.
Schoonover says police were able to get a warrant for Williams' arrest on January 25th because of that bloody fingerprint. Last Friday Williams turned himself in and refused to answer police questions. He's charged with second degree murder.
