Jacksonville, FL - Jacksonville Police use a stolen car’s navigation system to track its location, and today the man behind the wheel is found guilty.
27-year-old Kenneth Devon Doctor has been convicted of carjacking, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, burglary and resisting an officer without violence.
The State Attorney’s Office says Doctor and a co-defendant broke in to a Northwest Jacksonville home in September. When the homeowner arrived and saw a suspicious vehicle in her driveway, she parked behind it to block it in. She then went to the back of the house and saw Doctor walk out carrying a bag of stuff and her TV.
Doctor threatened to kill the homeowner if she wouldn’t move her car, but she refused and he eventually pulled her out, put the stolen items in her car and drove away.
Jacksonville Police tracked the car through OnStar. Doctor refused to pull over and led police on a high speed chase, eventually crashing.
He faces life in prison and will be sentenced the week of April 12.
