Congresswoman Corrine Brown says the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is close to completing their chief report on the St Johns river dredging project.
Brown tells WOKV the agencies have about 30 days to sign off on the paperwork. She says lawmakers can then include it in the water bill coming out of the House.
"Once that's done, we will be complete and we will be ready."
It could pave the way for Jacksonville to receive federal funding and the authorization to deepen the St. Johns River. We asked her if the water bill was being delayed in the House but she insists everyone is on track.
"Everything is on the timeline that is beneficial for Jacksonville."
