Closing loopholes for sexual predators

State Senator Audrey Gibson says a new bill she's pushing forward is about closing loopholes that allow sexual predators to fly under the radar.

Senator Gibson filed a measure that bans people from allowing sexual predators to borrow their car except for going to work and rehab.

She says the case of 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle comes to mind. Donald Smith, the man now charged with kidnapping and murdering is also accused of borrowing his mother's car.

"Someone doesn't get to borrow a car who is a sexual offender or a sexually violent predator."

Gibson says under the bill the owner of the car would be held responsible.
