Company asking for $4.3M in city incentives as part of ‘Project Mountain’ expansion in Jacksonville

A global logistics solutions company is asking for $4.3 million in city incentives to expand its Jacksonville facility.

‘Project Mountain’ would bring an estimated $196 million expansion and 10 new full-time jobs by Dec. 31, 2020.  Each new position would be paid an average $50,065 per year.

The capital investment is broken down by an estimated $150 million for equipment and furniture, and $46 million in land and real estate improvements.

If approved, the company would receive a grant for 50 percent of the increase in property taxes generated from the expansion for five years – up to $4.3 million. To receive the incentives, the company must invest at least $100 million.

The investment is said to bring “real and tangible person property improvements within Northwest Jacksonville,” according to the Office of Economic Development.

The incentive proposal will be introduced to the city council on Oct. 25.
