JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - An FDOT mistake has closed two ramps that dump traffic onto I-95 northbound just outside of downtown Jacksonville.
We're told the on ramps from Atlantic Blvd. westbound and Philips Hwy. northbound will be closed until at least 9 PM today because of an incident that happened while crews were driving sheet pilings into the ground for the Overland Bridge Project.
FDOT says the ground shifted while the crews were driving the pilings and as a result, the ramps will have to be completely repaved. Concrete crews will apparently need to come in as well to help repair the damage to the ramps.
FDOT spokesman Mike Goldman tells WOKV it will be until at least 9 p.m. Thursday afternoon before the on-ramps are open again.
