JSO says there is a new crime spree targeting the elderly.
Jacksonville police have two people in custody. Detectives are actively searching for 23-year-old Johnny Jeffrey for a plot to steal from homes under the ruse of helping the homeowners.
Police say two suspects told an elderly woman she needed to trim her trees before they fell on a power line and that she needed work done on her roof.
The woman let them in her home, agreed to their services and when they left she noticed thousands of dollars in jewelery were missing.
