DCF investigating video of man pushing young skateboarder down ramp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A video of a man pushing a young child down a ramp at a local skate boarding park is now making its way through social media. Action News has confirmed the video, posted on @Lilbubs Instagram page was taken at Kona Skate Park at 8739 Kona Ave. in Jacksonville.

According to Kona's owner, Martin Ramos, the father and son seen in the video are regulars at the skate park. He says he was made aware of the video Friday and has spoken to the family involved.

"We wish the best for him and his family, and certainly this is something we wouldn't promote or condone and feel it is a parent taking it too far," says Ramos.

Ramos says the child in the video is around 6 years old and was not hurt in the fall. He says the boy continued to skate for a while after the incident.

Action News has spoken to John Harrell with the Department of Children and Families. He says the agency is investigating and will be talking to the family involved in the video.

"We recognize the community is very concerned," said Harrell.

Action News has also reached out to the family in the video via Facebook for a comment. We have not heard back yet.
