Driver walks away from crash into retention pond

The driver of a car that ended up in a retention pond near The Avenues is able to walk away without serious injuries.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office dive team was called to the area of I-295 and Philips Highway after a car went into the retention pond there.

We first learned of the crash at 3am when the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office emailed WOKV about the dive team response.

It's unclear how the driver lost control of his car and put it in the retention pond.
