Drunk driver sentenced for passenger's death

A 22-year-old will spend up to 15 years in prison relating to the death of a friend.

The State Attorney’s Office says Klay Andrew Williams received the sentence for his conviction of Driving Under the Influence- Manslaughter.

In 2010, Williams was driving his truck on Solomon Road with Mitchell Green in the passenger’s seat.  Williams’ blood alcohol level registered at more than double the legal limit.  He lost control of the truck and hit a wooden fence, a piece of the fence then crashed through the windshield and hit Green in the head.

Green later died of his injuries.
