EverBank Field is sold out for Jags home playoff game

Jacksonville, FL — Tickets for the AFC Wild Card game that will be hosted at EverBank Field sold out in just a couple of hours earlier this week.

Now, an additional 4,701 tickets the team was able to free up have sold out in minutes.

In all, 69,132 people are expected to pack EverBank Field when the Jags square off in their first post-season appearance in the past decade.

The additional tickets come from two sources. First, the team sought and received permission from the NFL and their sponsors to take down tarps that were covering 3,501 seats. The Jags also sold 1,200 standing room only spots.

“It’s amazing. I’m also not surprised in the least. Our fans have been waiting too long to unlock the passion they have for their team and city. The chance to show the world how great Jacksonville is as a football town is finally here and our fans came through, just as I knew they would. Winning pays off, but nonetheless we are grateful for the response. I only wish we could accommodate everyone,” says a statement from Jaguars owner Shad Khan.

The game will take place either January 6th or 7th. It’s the first home playoff game the Jags have had since the 1999 season.

This weekend, they close out the regular season against division rivals the Titans in Tennessee. The Jags have already clinched the AFC South title.
