Family of Amber Whited learns autopsy could take a month

A family looking for closure after mother-of-two Amber Whited disappeared almost two weeks ago in Brunswick, Georgia and was found dead five days later has to wait a little longer to bury their loved one.
"She was just a warm, sweet, soft-spoken young lady and she was saving her little bit of money and trying to get, you know, a better life for her and her children and she was taken too soon for that," says family friend and friend of Amber's Teresa Massad.
We've learned that Amber's body has been moved to Atlanta because the medical examiner in Glynn County doesn't have a forensic expert needed to complete the autopsy.
Glynn County police chief Matt Doering tells our partner Action News it could take two to three more weeks before the family can finally bury her.
Businesses in the community like Larry's Giant Subs and the Harley Davidson shop where she worked have held fundraisers for Amber's funeral fund.
On Saturday, the Harley Davidson in Brunswick is hosting a 100 mile Memorial Ride for Amber. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and kickstands go down at 11. Anyone who wants to show their support will meet at the Harley Davidson on Perry Lane. There's a $20 mandatory donation, per bike, and all the proceeds will go to Amber Whited's family to help pay for funeral arrangements.
