Jacksonville, FL — Improvements to the I-295 West Beltway at 103rd Street are expected to begin the first week of January, according to FDOT.

Among the safety improvements included are; construction of a dual eastbound left turn lane to I-295 north, a dual westbound left turn lane at Firestone road, widening of the 103rd Street roadway at the I-295 interchange and Firestone Road intersection, installation of crosswalks with countdown timers, replacing sidewalks and installing guardrails.

FDOT says there will not be any lane closures between 6 am and 10 pm, Monday through Sunday, during construction.

As always, motorists are urged to follow the speed limit and stay within the limits of the orange cones and barrels while traveling through construction zones.

This $3.3 million project is expected to be complete by late summer 2018.
