Federal aid opened up for homeowners, renters and business owners in St. Johns County to help with Hurricane Matthew relief

Homeowners, renters and business owners will now be able to apply for federal assistance to help recover from damage left behind by Hurricane Matthew.

Citizens are encouraged to register with FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program as soon as possible. In order to be eligible, damage must have come from Hurricane Matthew, beginning Oct. 3.

If you have damage to your home or business, you should first file a claim with your insurance company.

Here are the ways you can register with FEMA:

  1. Online at DisasterAssistance.gov
  2. Through the FEMA Mobile App
  3. By calling 900-621-3362 between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., all week
