Jacksonville, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating, after a crash involving two school buses and another vehicle.
According to St. Johns County Fire Rescue, the crash happened at International Golf Parkway and Center Place Way, shortly after 2:00 pm on Monday.
The crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol shows the crash was a chain reaction, after a vehicle merged in front of an SUV, causing that driver to abruptly brake. The school bus directly behind that SUV attempted to stop, but was hit from behind by the second bus, causing it to hit the SUV.
FHP says all three vehicles suffered minor damage. FHP says the second bus driver is being charged with carless driving.
As for the students, approximately 45 kids were on the two buses at the time. Two had to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Another 11 students also reported having minor injuries.
FHP says charges are pending in the crash.
