The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a fire just north of Downtown early Friday morning.
JFRD spokesman Mike Perry told WOKV the fire started in a house on the 600 block of Odessa Street, then spread to two other homes.
The incident happened just before 5 a.m. No one was injured, but the middle house where the fire started is completely destroyed and the two surrounding houses are damaged, according to Perry.
The State Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the cause.
The Red Cross is helping the families.
