St. Johns County, FL - Felony theft charges stemming from incidents where you shop.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the St. Augustine Premium Outlet Mall Monday night to a report of shoplifting in progress at the Polo Ralph Lauren store. Investigators saw the suspects driving away, and a vehicle matching the description was seen driving a short time later on I95. A traffic stop was conducted at a rest area off the highway, and deputies found a large amount of goods they believe are stolen as well as tools to remove anti-shoplifting devices.
24-year-old Lakycra Gardner, 22-year-old Jasmonique Franklin, 19-year-lod Mia Dock, 18-year-old Shacarrie Heyward and 16-year-old Shanea Johnson were all arrested on felony retail theft charges. Gardner is from Jacksonville, the other four are from Savannah, GA.
The adults have been booked in to the County Jail and Johnson given to Juvenile Justice.
The clothing was determined to be from six outlet mall stores, including Polo/Ralph Lauren, Reebok/Rockport, Aeropostale, Nike, Gap and Tommy Hilfiger. The items were valued at more than $2500.
