An afternoon of intense storms has knocked down trees in one Orange Park neighborhood, causing power outages and home damage.
“I have one tree down on a home- just on the backside, no significant structural damage- I have one tree on a car, and then I have a few other trees down throughout the neighborhood which has currently got the power out,” says John Ward with Clay County Emergency Management.
This is all happening on Gano Avenue.
Ward says there was nobody in the car when the tree fell, but there was a woman and two children in the home. Nobody was injured.
The roof on the home’s laundry room was damaged, but Ward says the family will likely be able to stay in the home. The Red Cross will be assisting if they need relocation.
If you have any damage, Ward is asking you to report it to the EOC at 904-284-7703.
