Jacksonville Humane Society clearing space to help in Irma aftermath

Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Humane Society is sending their adoptable animals out of the state, in order to be ready to respond following Hurricane Irma.

JHS says they’re partnering with the Lynchburg Humane Society and Cat Depot in Virginia to transfer out dogs and cats today. The intent is to free up resources to provide the Jacksonville community and Florida overall after Irma passes through.

JHS is closing Saturday at 1 PM through Monday.
