JACKSONVILLE, Fl. - Jacksonville Jaguars fans crowded outside EverBank Field for a NFL draft party Thursday night.
Food trucks and Jaguars sponsors running booths lined the perimeter of the gated-off lot while fans participated in games, listened to a live band and predicted who the Jaguars would select as their first-round draft pick.
“The biggest thing they (need) is a receiver or quarterback,” one fan said. “You play smart and draft down and get a couple of extra picks and then make the best team possible from there.”
“I was hoping for (Sammy) Watkins, but I think Bortles is a great quarterback and can do a lot of good here for the Jaguars,” another fan said.
The annual draft party took place outside of EverBank Field, unlike previous years, because of the construction taking place within the stadium.
Mayor Alvin Brown walked through the crowd shaking hands and greeting eager fans while live music from the local band Be Easy played.
Fans were able to park and enter the event for free, but had to register online beforehand.
