On job creation, Florida GOP says Scott beats Crist

The Chairman of the Florida Republican Party says Governor Rick Scott just has to compare the records in order to beat former Governor Charlie Crist in the election next year.

Lenny Curry says since Governor Scott was elected, Florida created about 365,000 private sector jobs.  He says the state lost over 830,000 jobs when Crist was governor from 2007 to 2011.

“And while the country was in an economic crisis back when Charlie Crist was governor, he didn’t stay in and lead,” says Curry.  “He did nothing as governor to mitigate the job loss and the economic crisis.”

And Curry says Crists’ career has been made of “raw political amibition.”

“It’s all about Charlie Crist,” he says. “In a nutshell, Charlie Crist is a political opportunist.”

Curry says that Crist has a lot of ambition, which isn’t a bad thing, as it encourages other people to get things done.

“But just personal ambition without any cause or any reason or any purpose higher than oneself does nothing for our country….does nothing for our state.”

Curry says Crist put out a video ad about a week ago, never once mentioning job creation or the economy.

“Because that’s where he failed miserably when he was governor,” he says.

The Republican Party of Florida also launched a website featuring an ad where prominent Democrats criticize Crist, who used to be a Republican.  Crist has since turned independent, and now Democrat.
