The Sheriff’s Office confirms there is a crosswalk at the intersection but it’s unclear if the man was using the crosswalk at the time. If he was, officers are working to determine if he or the car had the right-of-way. It was raining at the time and JSO says the weather may have been a factor in the crash.
The car and the driver stayed on scene. JSO says there were several people inside the car as well, nobody was hurt and they are cooperating with the investigation.
The identity of the victim has yet to be released, officers say the man did not have an I.D. on him.
