Malnourished, in poor health and confined without enough food, water and space.
Those are the conditions St. Johns County deputies uncovered when responding to a home in Flagler Estates.
Deputies have seized 39 large animals from the home on Nikolitch Avenue, including 17 cows, 9 pigs, 11 goats and 2 horses. We’re told the animals have been taken to a farm to receive care. Although they technically remain the property of the homeowners at this time, they are in the custody of SJSO.
There will be a hearing within the next month to decide long term care.
The Sheriff’s Office says arrest warrants have been obtained for 40-year-old Tammy Marie Denes and 40-year-old Donald Eugene Dunbar for 39 counts of animal cruelty. A search of jail records shows they have not been booked as of Friday afternoon.
