Man charged after crash involving ambulance

Jacksonville, Fl. — The Florida Highway Patrol says 32-year-old Lavoris Lampkins is facing charges for careless driving.

The crash report says the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue ambulance was driving on I-10 Westbound on the ramp to I-295 South. As it was driving around a curb, the ambulance stopped suddenly to avoid crashing into another car that was in the left lane.

Florida Highway Patrol says the car had become disabled from a previous crash. Lampkins who was driving a black Chevy Impala failed to stop in time and hit the back of the JFRD ambulance.

No injuries were reported.
