A man accused of posing as a sheriff's deputy is behind bars in Nassau County.
Authorities say three people pretending to be narcotics officers searched a man's car on the beach at Peter's Point Park on May 11. The three stole a handgun from the car, according to Sheriff Bill Leeper.
The robbers drove off in a silver or white Honda Civic with a Georgia license plate.
Deputies arrested 32-year-old Gregory Travis Shields in Canton, Ga. He's from Fernandina Beach
Investigators are searching for two more people.
