Man charged with wife's murder, found naked under shed in Julington home

Jacksonville police have arrested a man in connection to his wife’s murder in Julington Creek on Sunday.

Police say 23-year-old Peter Charles John Jensen is charged with murder for the shooting death of his wife, 24-year-old Karina Jensen, with a shotgun during an argument at their garage apartment at 3230 Julington Creek Road.

When police arrived around midnight, they found Karina dead in the apartment from a shotgun blast to the head.

JSO immediately began to search for Peter Jensen as a suspect and found him four hours later, naked under a shed in the area.

"He was under the influence of narcotics.  I couldn't tell you what kind but he was definitely under the influence," said Lt. Rob Schoonover with JSO.

Schoonover says the witness lead police to believe that Jensen was into playing the violent kind of video games and said it could have been a trigger for the altercation..  He said Jensen and his wife had no history of violence.

The property where the arrest was made was listed on the property appraiser's website as being worth several hundred thousand dollars, though it's unclear whether the Jensens own the property or not.

Jensen was taken to Shands Jacksonville and was absentee booked at the hospital due to the possibility of there being a large amount of drugs in his system.
