Just minutes after the ball dropped and the clock struck midnight, a man shoots himself during a family celebration in Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says just after midnight a man who was celebrating with his family at the Bay Club Apartments on Western Lake Drive off Southside Blvd. and Baymeadows Rd. shot himself in the head.
Police say the man was rushed to UF Health Jacksonville in serious condition.
