Mayo Clinic plans $70 million construction project

In just two years, 900 new staff have been to Mayo Clinic Jacksonville as part of a $300 million construction boom.

And another new project has just been announced, including additional floors and remodeled space.

A $25 million gift from Dan and Brenda Davis of Jacksonville fueled this most recent expansion, which will be complete in two years and include additional surgical rooms and more.

The $70.5 million expansion includes space for cardiovascular, cardiology and cardio-thoracic surgery program areas, expansion of the spine center and pain rehabilitation programs, additional surgical rooms, space and equipment to establish a molecular imaging center for radiology, and laboratory expansion.

"We are extremely grateful to the family of Dan and Brenda Davis for their generous and unyielding support for Mayo Clinic," Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., vice president, Mayo Clinic, and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida.

Mayo Clinic’s Florida campus now has about 5,900 employees and contributes roughly $2 billion to the Florida economy.
