Jacksonville, FL - Michael Dunn’s attorney wants more time to prepare for trial.
A motion filed today by Attorney Cory Strolla says he has faced a recent surge in motions and court filings, and addressing them has “greatly diminished the defendant’s, through counsel, time to properly and effectively prepare” for the trial. The motion further says he needs more time to finalize his defense.
I reached out to Strolla’s office for more details, but was told he has no further comment. The State Attorney’s Office has also declined to “try this case in the media”, according to a statement issued to WOKV.
Strolla’s motion, however, says he has been in contact with the State Attorney’s Office, and they oppose a continuance.
The trial is currently scheduled to start February 3rd. Strolla wants that moved to early April.
