UPDATE: This missing teen has been found safe.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a mentally challenged teen who hasn’t been seen since this afternoon.
We’re told 14-year-old Kendrick got in an altercation with a staff member at the Beacon of Hope School around 4:30PM when he fled. Deputies believe the teen is now scared of getting in trouble and may be hiding. The search will continue through the evening until he’s found.
Kendrick has Asperger Syndrome, which is a form of autism, and functions at the level of an 8-year-old, according to SJSO.
Kendrick is a light-skinned black male, 5’4”, 140 lbs with a fade haircut. He was last seen in shorts and a white t-shirt. He answers to “Stacy”.
If you have any information on Kendrick’s location, you’re asked to contact SJSO at 904-824-8304.
