More talk of texting and driving ban in Florida

There's now a different approach to the debate over cell phone use behind the wheel.

A Florida father is pushing politicians to make it illegal for drivers younger than 18 to use a cell phone behind the wheel.

"Seems like every time you get cut off in traffic or somebody swerves out of their lane, sure enough, when you get up beside them, they're on their cell phone.  It's ridiculous," said one driver.

Don Mair's daughter Gabby was hit and killed two years ago by a driver he believes was distracted by a cell phone, even though the driver never admitted it.

"Always somebody that says 'well texting and driving is a right.'  They took Gab's right for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness away," said Mair.

Florida is one of six states with no restrictions on driver cell phone usage.

The proposed new law would take away a teenager's driver license for 30 days if they're caught using the cell phone.
