The bugs are biting and it's going to get even worse through the weekend.

Dr. Whitney Ellen-Qualls, biologist with Anastasia Mosquito Control District, says the standing water from the recent tropical storms provided perfect breeding grounds.
Mosquito larvae are turning into adults and we're going to see adults continuing to hatch the next few weeks.

"We're out adulticiding the whole county by ground and we're gonna have our aerial program out over the weekend and through the remaining of the week".

They're also larvaciding to prevent the spread of new mosquito breeds.

It's a safe bet you'll need to put on bug spray when you're out this weekend.
