NAS Jax may cancel fall air show

We're hearing that the fall air show at NAS Jax could be cancelled.

In a statement, a spokesperson for NAS Jax said that commanding officer Captain Bob Sanders and other officials on base are in discussions right now on whether to cancel the show which is scheduled for October 26-27. We're told the press will be notified as soon as the decision is made.

Sweeping budget cuts forced the Navy to pull the popular Blue Angels squad from air shows.

Here's the full statement from NAS Jax:

"The NAS Jacksonville Commanding Officer Capt. Bob Sanders and other officials aboard the base are in conversation now to determine if the 2013 NAS Jax Air Show scheduled for Oct. 26-27 will be canceled. A press release will be made as soon as the decision is made."
