Neighbor on teen's killing: It's getting ridiculous

A 17-year-old has been found dead in a Northside backyard.

Jacksonville Police said gunshots were heard in the area of Clyde Drive and 4^th Avenue late Monday, but went unreported until JSO says "youngsters" walking to school found the body of 17-year-old Errin Brooks Tuesday.

“Our kids are just steady getting killed around here, and it’s getting, you know, ridiculous,” said one neighbor.

Those who live in the area tell our partner Action News they are concerned about gang violence, however police are not commenting at this time whether this death is gang related.

Friends of Brooks say the Ribault High School student made A’s and B’s and was fun and energetic.

This is being investigated as a suspicious death but there are few other details available at this time.
