Neptune Beach set to discuss resolution in support of LGBT rights

We reached out to the mayor of Neptune Beach to see if she would be interested in passing a resolution similar to the one passed by Atlantic Beach.
Neptune Beach Mayor Harriet Pruette says although everyone might not agree she's in support of discussing whether commissioners should pass a similar resolution.
"All they're asking for is to be treated equally."
Pruette says she wanted to wait for Atlantic Beach to pass the resolution first. She says they had more man power and resources to research it and accomplish it. Now she's opening up the discussion for residents in Neptune Beach to hear what they would like to do.
"I'm willing to bring it before us and we'll talk about it."
Pruette says she's put it on Tuesday night's workshop agenda for discussion. She tells WOKV she believes now is the time since the resolution passed in Atlantic Beach.
"I always said if I was mayor if somebody wanted something discussed, we'll discuss it. Might not always agree on everything but certainly people have the right to be heard. I've got it on there and we'll talk about it."
