State troopers are investigating a crash in Putnam County this morning that sent two elementary school children and a teenage babysitter to the hospital.
It happened on US 19 South around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning. We're told all of the victims are expected to survive their injuries, including the 75-year-old driver that hit the nine-year-olds, who are twin brother and sister, and their 19-year-old babysitter.
"The driver of the white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that was involved in this collision, he was transported to Putnam Community Regional as well and has been described as non life-threatening injuries," said Sgt. Dylan Bryan with the Florida Highway Patrol.
Sgt. Dylan Bryan with Florida Highway Patrol says the man may have suffered a medical emergency before hitting a mailbox and then crashing into the people at the bus stop but they are still investigating.
