The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a man shot his wife's boss after he discovered the two were having an affair.
The JSO homicide unit was called to a home on Romford Court around 11 p.m.
We're told the suspect, 30-year-old James Franklin, slapped his wife when he found out about the affair and then left the couple's Arlington home with a gun.
Police say Franklin shot 34-year-old Michael Gonzalez, his wife's boss, to confront him. That's when police say Franklin shot Gonzalez outside the home.
After returning home, Franklin allegedly told his wife what he did and she called police.
He invoked his right to remain silent, but did admit to police that he was "just trying to scare Gonzalez".
